Membership

AAUW membership is available to all men and women who have at least an Associate degree.

Here’s a video explaining what AAUW does.

Membership is paid through a “blanket fee” which covers membership in our local branch, AAUW California, and AAUW at the National level. The total fee will be $95, effective March 16, 2018. Discounts are often available for NEW members, and special rates for students at all levels.  To join our branch, use the secure form on our National website. Be sure to send our branch membership chair an e-mail so you can be immediately connected with the branch also.

To renew your membership, you may use our LPD AAUW Membership Renewal Form 2017. Members may also renew online through AAUW’s Membership Payment Program on our national website. Full details are available at the previous link.  Memberships typically are renewed in June, but you can join anytime!

Some of our long-time members do not pay National dues, but for MOST members, $59 of your dues support AAUW programs at the National level. Since 2009, when AAUW reorganized, $56 of dues are deductible for most members, since AAUW Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. $3 of the National dues support our advocacy efforts. For more information on the programs supported by your dues – or which can be supported by your additional contributions, check our new AAUW Supports… page.

As a branch member, you are also a member of AAUW of California  and AAUW (National).  You will receive the California Perspective, published 3 times a year. It is posted  on their website as a regular .pdf file as well as distributed via e-mail and postal mail.  The California publication is available via e-mail on a highly-encouraged opt-in basis by sending a message to savepostage@aauw-ca.org with YES in the subject line.  You will also receive AAUW Outlook four times a year, also posted on their website and distributed via email notification.

AAUW membership has a number of other benefits. Check out the list of Affinity Partners on our National website for more information. Partners include The Princeton Review, The Feminist Press, MagazineLine, ShopAAUW, Office Max, Target, Nationwide Insurance, Mylo, HotelStorm, and others.
